Life | Lake Life, Long Runs

August 8, 2023 ~ Hello there, friends! I know it's been a while since my last entry, but no need to worry. Things have been cruising along nicely up here in the land of lakes and loons. I did, however, have every intention of writing well before August rolled around.

This past month, we have been enjoying summer with the camper parked at the lake house in Northern Minnesota. Bird watching and a little bass fishing have mostly been on the daily agenda. This upcoming weekend, we're taking a short trip over to North Dakota for a visit with Kid #1.

Co-pilot J has been busy training for the Javelina 100 Ultramarathon coming up in October. Some of you may recall that he ran that race for the first time in 2014. This time around, he's juggling training with 35-day hitches and 12-hour shifts in Saudi Arabia. Talk about a challenge! It’s been difficult for him to get the miles in for sure, but I think this month of training at the lake has been going pretty well – at least, that's how it looks from my perspective as the designated snack sherpa πŸ˜‰

I have a handful of sunsets left here by the lake before I hitch up and steer south to meet up with J for the race. The route from Minnesota to Arizona will be a new one for me, and I'm looking forward to some fun stops to share with you along the way. Stay tuned!
